Peter Michael Tomko
Peacefully at his home with his loving family by his side, on Monday, July 4, 2022, Peter Michael Tomko of London passed away at the age of 88 years. Cherished husband for 35 years of Marjorie Tomko. Loving father of Michael, Kathryn (Richard), Paula (David), and Michelle (Michele). Devoted Poppa of Michael (Julie), Patrick (Elizabeth), Tara, Natalie (Scott), Emily, James and his great granddaughters Libby and Mila. Peter is predeceased by his parents Peter Tomko Sr. and Terezia Charnogursky.
Born on June 30, 1934 in Brooklyn, New York, and after losing his father at a young age, he immigrated to Canada where he made his life. Peter enjoyed a successful career in Human Resources with General Spring Products/Lear-Siegler Inc., St. Mary’s Hospital, Galtaco, and retired as Vice President Human Resources, Fleet Aerospace in 1993. Following retirement, Peter and Marj relocated to the London area where he pursued many of his passions, in particular golf. Peter will be remembered mostly for his positivity, strong work ethic, sense of humour, and his pride in his Slovak roots.
A private family visitation was held on Thursday, July 7, 2022. A public Celebration of Peter’s Life will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 11:00 am at the McFarlane & Roberts Funeral Home, 2240 Wharncliffe Road, South, London. (Masks are mandatory to attend the service.) Cremation has taken place. Donations to the Alzheimer Society, Diabetes Association and the War Amps will be gratefully accepted or plant a tree in memory of Peter.
