Obituary of Peter Harry Holubowsky
Peter passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 11, 2022 in his 83rd year. Peter was the beloved husband of Dora (Van Schyndel) of 58 years. Loving father of Mike (Brenda), Michele, and Nick (Carol). Proud grandfather of Jessica, Jonathan, Emily, Dylan, Alyson, Brayden and Abbey. Loving great grandfather of Carter and Cali. Survived by his brother Joe, sisters Irena and Maria (Gary) and nieces. Predeceased by his parents Michael and Matrona as well as his twin brother Paul, brother-in-law Jerry and nephew Jaroslav.
Peter faced life with positivity, faith and grace. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 7464. He proudly worked as a Supervisor at the Ford Motor Company and retired after 33 years. His passions were family and friends, church, fishing, farming, gardening, dogs, horses, travel, sports and ice cream.
An extra special thank you to Dr. Rycroft, Doctors and staff at the Walker Family Cancer Center, Ari, Paola, Melissa, Rose and all of the caring support personnel for Peter. Thank you for the many prayers and special thoughts and visits by Father Anton and his extended family at St. John’s church.
Visitation will be held at St. John’s Ukrainian Catholic Church (91 Lakeshore Road, St. Catharines, Ontario) on Monday, April 25 from 9:30-11:00am. A Funeral Mass will take place immediately following at 11:00am. A celebration of life luncheon will follow in the Community Center at St. John’s Church. If desired, donations to St. John’s Ukrainian Catholic Church or Walker Family Cancer Center are appreciated.
