Obituary of Peter Dueck
Peter Dueck, resident of Beaverlodge, AB passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022, at home, at the age of 93 years.
Peter was born in Paulshiem, Ukraine, on March 23, 1929. He came to Beaverlodge from Germany when he was 19. He was a farm worker for 1 year and then set out to work on his own, working up north driving a cat. He was part of the crew that built Highway 2. He drove a gravel truck and started to accumulate farmland west of Beaverlodge. There he and his wife Lois built their home and farmed side by side until 1989. At that time, they sold all but 10 acres where they lived until 2018 when they moved into Beaverlodge and Amisk Court.
Peter was quiet, considerate, and hardworking. He was a great father, husband, and friend. Peter loved gardening, woodworking, and fishing.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 66 years Lois Dueck; children: Marilyn (Richard) Hayduk, Terry Dueck, Donna Dueck, and Linda (Randy) Melnick; grandchildren: Morgan Hayduk, Pamela Boyer, Raymond Madarash, Cory Madarash, Jennifer Madarash, Kira Dueck and Kolby Dueck; great-grandchildren: Nola, Beau, Marcus, Allyssa, Hayden, Blake, Alexis, Jersey, Jasper, and Jacob.
He was predeceased by infant son Gordon John Dueck in 1962, his parents, 3 sisters, and 1 brother in Germany.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 27, 2022, from 2:00 – 4:00 pm at the Lossing Center in Beaverlodge.
