Obituary of Peter Cooper Hardie
PETER COOPER HARDIE
August 17, 1940 – December 17, 2021.
It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Peter Cooper Hardie on December 17, 2021, peacefully at home, at the age of 81.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of over 60 years Isabel, children Brad (Karen), Elaine (Mike), grand-children Jordan (Emily), Christopher, Peter Graeme, Laura and great-grandchildren Maria and Julia. Born in Aberdeen, Scotland, Peter came to Canada in 1953 with his parents, older brother David (Ellen Mae) and sister Madeline (Rick). Peter enjoyed a long career with the Metropolitan Toronto Police, and “badge number 3” happily retired as a Staff Sergeant in 1993. He will also be missed by his brothers-in-law Bill (Lois) and Bob (Linda) and his many nieces and nephews. He was a quiet man, happiest when with close family, playing cards, or listening to old family stories. On his last day, he was lucky to be with the person he loved the most – his wife.
No formal funeral service is planned at this time due to COVID. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.northcuttelliott.com for the family. A private celebration of life will follow in the spring.
