Passed away September 25th, at home with family by his side, after a year of cancer treatments and a Stem Cell
Transplant for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Survived by his wife Yvonne (Bonnie) (nee Byrne) of forty years and very proud Father of sons Hannibal (Sara) and Noah (Jen). Happiest “Grandpa Pete” to Wolfe Peter, Adelaide Rose
and Ophelia (Baby O); whom he didn’t get a chance to meet.
Born in Toronto on January 31, 1954 to William Cull and Jeannette Cull (nee Cossette). Graduated in 1975 from the University of Toronto (BSc). Worked at various jobs and traveled to many countries over the years
culminating in the catch of a white pointer shark whilst tuna fishing in Australia. Upon return to Canada, married the love of his life and settled in Toronto and started their family. After deciding that building a log cabin, four miles by water, east of Killarney was too remote, discovered Sault Ste Marie and moved his family in 1988. Yvonne returned to work and Pete prided himself on being a near perfect Mr. Mom; cooking from scratch, baking bread, making salami and fixing anything around the house that needed attention. As the boys gained
independence, Pete created a business for himself painting interiors/exteriors, refinishing furniture and acting as a general maintenance “go to guy” for neighbours, seniors and others.
Brother to Cathy Langstaff (Jimmy), Patti Cull (late) and Joanne Edmunds (Gord). Brother-in-law to Don Byrne (Joyce), Ed Byrne, Steve Byrne (Teena). Uncle Pete will be remembered by nieces Amy, Sarah, Randi-Lee,
Dalanie, Lindsay and nephew Andrew.
He will be greeted in Heaven (or its’ equivalent) by Mike O’Brien, Sam Rainone, Lou Renzoni, Pat Evoy, Sonny Martinelli and Stanley Herbert (Killarney).
As per Pete’s wishes cremation has taken place and a Memorial Mass will be held in the Spring/Summer 2023.
Much appreciation for the dedication shown by the Doctors that oversaw his care and treatment in the Sault, Ottawa and Sudbury. Special thanks to Dr. Danny Hill.
