Peter Tammert, March 26, 1945 – September 8, 2022
On Thursday, only 2 short months after his GBM diagnosis, Daddy transitioned out of his physical body and into a place of love and light.
Daddy was an incredible human; critical, opinionated, stubborn and exacting. But once you pierced that outer layer you found the helpful, giving, kind, sentimental, funny, generous and incredibly loving person that was at his core.
He was never given a problem he couldn’t solve, a project he wouldn’t tackle, an animal he didn’t love, a friend or family member he wouldn’t do anything for.
He was a man that could speak volumes with very few words. Those who knew him knew his gestures and looks could be full sentences.
He overcame so many obstacles in life, both physical and circumstantial but never dwelled on them or let anything stop him.
My dad was the best of fathers. Teaching me to be strong, resilient, self-reliant and pragmatic.
He worshipped his 3 grandchildren and was a devoted partner to mommy for almost 50 years. I know his grandchildren feel so very lucky to have had the time with their Opa that they did, albeit much less time than we had all hoped for.
He has left a gaping hole in all our hearts but also a lasting impact on all of our lives.
We love you so much
