Peter Money 2022

February 8, 1935 – December 24, 2022
On December 24, 2022, at North York General Hospital, Peter Lawrence Money, son of the late Lawrence and Phyllis Money. Greatly loved and loving husband of Frances (née Munro) for sixty wonderful years. Devoted father of Katherine and the late David who was following in his footsteps as an accomplished geologist. Survived by his sister Margaret (Hubert Maringgele) and niece Becky Evans (Mike Lipton). “Great” to Aldwyn, Talia and Genevieve Lipton who brought energy and joy to his later years. We treasure our memories of “squishy hugs”.
Peter’s career as a geologist exploring northern regions of Canada was followed by an adventurous retirement. Many pins were added to the world map on the family bulletin board. He enjoyed international natural history travels with Frances and shared his appreciation of the natural world by giving slide lectures and writing many newsletter articles. His many enthusiasms included identifying and photographing Toronto area wildflowers and travelling to view and photograph seventeen species of penguin. He was well known for his wise counsel and delightful quiet sense of humour.
Peter was an advocate for several environmental, First Nations, and humanitarian causes, providing his voice in support of conservancy and equity. He was a private man, and we are celebrating his life with private family arrangements and cremation. No flowers by request. Memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

We offer our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Peter Money 2022  and hope that their memory may be a source of comfort during this difficult time. Your thoughts and kind words are greatly appreciated.
