We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Peter McGillivray on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at the age of 85, peacefully surrounded by his family. Predeceased by his wife Carol (2021). Wonderful father of Peter (Karyn), Heather (Les), Paul (Kim) and Mike (Laura). Cherished grandfather to Beverly, Bryce, Joel, Stephanie, Nicholas, Kelsea, Karli, Karter, and Mathew. Great grandfather to Brookelyn, Brayden, and Scarlett. Brother of Irene Jones, the late James McGillivray and the late Mary Duffy (Neil). Brother-in-law of Rob Lee (Sherry), Janice Lee, Diane Robertson (Jeff), Beverly Lee-Scott (Wayne) and the late Bruce Lee (Alice). Peter and Carol met working at Avro Engines in Malton, where Carol worked in the office and Peter worked in the plant. They were at the ages of 16 and 20 and Carol told the plant workers that she would marry Peter one day and on August 10th, 1957, they were married. Visitation at STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, 11 Mountain Street, GRIMSBY (905-945-2755) on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, from 6-8 p.m. Prayer Vigil 6 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 135 Livingston Avenue, Grimsby on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at 3:30 p.m. Cremation to follow. If desired, memorial contributions to the
Canadian Lung Association would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
