Peter Ludwig Stroinig September 14th 2022

Peter Ludwig Stroinig, 83, passed peacefully at Vernon Jubilee Hospital on September 14, 2022, survived by his wife of 52 years Edeltraud (Trudy), son Michael of Princeton, and daughter Tanya of Lake Country. He will be missed by his daughter in-law Sondra, step-grandson Nick, and his sisters Hannelore & Annemarie. Born in Vienna, Austria Peter adventured throughout Europe before coming to Canada in 1967, where he and Trudy met. Having raised their family in North Delta, Peter & Trudy moved away from the Lower mainland in 1994, spending some time in Tulameen and then eventually landing in Vernon in 1996. A master Painter by trade, he learned his craft in Vienna and continued in BC, affectionately known as “Peter the Painter” working his own business until semi-retirement in the late 90’s. Peter enjoyed hunting and was a regular at his favourite coffee shops wherever he lived, always happy to have a conversation. When he lost his speech, the sparkle in his eyes would light up for years to come. He will be remembered for being an Austrian with cowboy boots, his colourful Dagoli shirts, his many collections and his strong will. After 19 long years of health struggles, he passed peacefully with his wife and daughter at his side, on his terms. Thank you to the amazing staff at VJH for allowing his final days to be peaceful and pain-free. Honouring his wishes, there will be no service, in lieu of flowers please support the BC Cancer Foundation in his memory.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Peter Ludwig Stroinig September 14th 2022..
