Peter J. “Bear” Gravante Jr., 33, of Byron passed away on Wednesday November 16, 2022. He was born on February 1, 1989 in Rochester to Peter J. (Christine) Gravante Sr. of Rochester and Barbara Gravante of Byron. He is predeceased by his grandparents; John Gravante, Mary (Albert) Smith and Richard (Arlene) Lyman.
Peter graduated from Byron-Bergen High School. He worked in construction and was known as a very hard worker. Peter enjoyed working and tinkering with cars and trucks. He had a big heart and was always willing to help someone in need.
In addition to his parents, Peter is survived by his siblings; John Gravante of IN., Nikki Gravante of GA., Jason Kone of Byron, James Kone of Byron, Matthew Thornley of LeRoy and Christopher (Trish) Thornley of TX., along with many Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends are invited to call on Monday November 28, 2022 from 4:00-7:00PM at Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc. 329-333 West Main Street Batavia, New York 14020. A 9:30AM Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday the November 29th at Resurrection Parish (St. Mary’s) 18 Ellicott St. in Batavia. Peter will be laid to rest in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
