Pete Osowetski 2022

Pete’s Obituary
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Pete Osowetski announce his passing.
Pete was born June 15, 1928 on the family farm at Brownvale (AB), to Sam and Fanny Osowetski. He was the third child in the family of four.
Peter took his schooling at Blue Hawk School. After leaving school, Pete began his farming career which spanned 8 decades. Pete also worked off the farm in winter to supplement his income, doing various jobs, falling and hauling logs for Smith Mills, slashing for Jack Wald, driving school bus and janitor work for Peace River School Division.
Pete met the love of his life, Maureen Moses, in 1957. They were married August 12, 1958. Three sons were born out of this union. Dennis arrived January 23, 1960; Darrel on November 24, 1962; and, Kevin on September 27, 1968.
Pete worked tirelessly on his mixed farming operation to provide for his family, but always made sure to put time aside to do things with his family. Trips to Kelowna to visit his brother’s Alec’s family, Bear Lake Sports Day & North Peace Stampede were included in summer fun. Peter was an avid outdoorsman, a successful hunter, fisherman & trapper. He was never too busy that he couldn’t take his boys hunting, fishing or out to check his traps. But, most of all, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Pete was pre-deceased by his brother Tony (1952); mother Fanny (1956); baby son Wayne (1959);father Sam (1961); brother Alec (1991); sister Pauline (2013).
He is survived by his wife Maureen; son Dennis (Brenda); son Darrel (Debbie); and, son Kevin (Tanya); grandchildren Chelsea, Kirsti, and Marcy Osowetski; Chase and Cole Osowetski; Anthony Osowetski; Sean Weberg; Billy Weberg; Tyler Birnie-Browne; Jessie Birnie-Browne; and, great grandchildren Miller Osowetski, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service held from Brownvale Rec Center on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 1:00 pm with interment in Brownvale Cemetery.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. (Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada)
