In Loving Memory
Mr. Paul Schooley of La Salette, passed away peacefully at the VON Sakura House, Woodstock on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 in his 86th year. Paul was a 3rd Degree Member of the Delhi-LaSalette Knights of Columbus Co. #5095. Paul always made time for family and friends which he considered the most important things in life. He worked hard, could fix anything, and was always there to help anyone who needed it. Paul was an avid reader, loving history and trivia, and enjoyed camping, golfing and woodworking. He created the most detailed and intricate birdhouses and models. His wonderful sense of humour and contagious laugh will be missed by family and friends. Beloved husband of Cecilia (Esbaugh) Schooley of 60 years. Loving father of Sandra Rayner ( Chad ), Barbara Ann Mills ( Gary ) and Ron Schooley (Rita). Cherished grandfather of Emily and Alanna Rayner, Olivia Boss (Rob) and Aidan and Grace Mills, Danielle Mitchell (Shayne) and Katelyn (Trevor) and Jacob Schooley and great-grandfather of Bella Boss, and Connor, Austin and Maddison Mitchell. Dearest brother of Tom Schooley (Marilyn), Angela Kicksee (Gord) and Sheila Edwards (Brian). Also survived by several nieces, nephews and in-laws. Predeceased by his parents Harold and Angela (Bealey) Schooley, his brother, Carl Schooley (Carol) and by his sisters Norma Phillips (late Blaine ), Marion McMahon (late Mike) and Joan Colwell (Archie). A special and sincere thank you to all of the staff and volunteers at Sakura House for their excellent care and compassion. It was truly a blessing for Dad to spend his final days there. Friends may call at La Salette Historic Church for visitation on Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs Roman Catholic Church, Delhi on Monday, April 4, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Our Lady of La Salette Roman Catholic Cemetery. Donations to the La Salette Area Rural Roots (Church) or the VON Sakura House can be made through the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) and will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
