Pauline Polly Johnson 2022

Obituary
The family of the late Pauline Johnson announce her passing on October 19, 2022, at the age of 89 years.
Pauline (nee Trofimenkoff) was born November 26, 1932, in a small Doukhobor village south of Verigin, SK. Her first school was at Linden Valley. In 1947, she moved to Norquay where she continued her education at Norquay Elementary and High School. She started attending Norquay United Church in 1951 and met Ronald Johnson in the church choir. Their romance continued throughout the years of her training as a registered nurse (RN) at Yorkton General Hospital from 1952-1955.
Ron and Polly were married July 11, 1956, in Norquay United Church. They settled on Ronald’s farm north of Norquay and went on to raise 5 children. Pauline (Polly) continued to work as a RN at Norquay Hospital as well as teaching Sunday School and serving with the UCW.
In 1972, Polly became the first public health nurse in Norquay; her district included: Hyas, Norquay, Pelly and Arran. She retired in 1997 after 25 years of service.
She happily lived on the farm with Ronald until his passing in 2012, only moving into Norquay in 2015. Her heart gave its final beat on October 19, 2022, while at home.
She leaves to mourn her five children: Patricia Johnson, Kenneth (Laurie) Johnson, Carol Johnson, Shanna Engler (Ken) and Bjorn Johnson; her 7 grandchildren: Andy Johnson, Ryan Johnson (Miranda), Jason Gwozd, Nadia Daunoravicius (Zach), Nicholas, Michael and Amanda Theriault; and 2 great grandchildren, Tyden and Mayson Johnson.
She was predeceased by all her siblings: Nora Nadane, Bill Troff, Tom Troff and Anne Jacobson, as well as her parents Alex and Polly Trofimenkoff.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 26, 2022, from the Norquay United Church, Norquay, SK, with Tricia Challoner and Velda Dahlin officiating. Committal will follow in the Norquay Community Cemetery. Those wishing to make expressions of sympathy may make donations to the Norquay United Church or to the N.I.C.E.
