Obituary
Pauline May Mattinson, passed away at her home in Killam Longterm Care, Killam, Alberta September 24, 2022 at age of 81 years from heart failure.
Pauline was born May 20, 1941 to William and Sadie Violet Davison in Daysland, Alberta.
She is survived by her daughters and son-in-laws; Shannon Marko (Chris), Melanie Kirk (Brad), Angela Long (Mike); Grandchildren; Shaun Marko (Cassy), Jenn Herman (Dave), Brennon, Braedan and Megan Kirk; Great grandchildren; Jaspyn Marko, Octavia and Maddox Herman.
Pauline was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Thomas Mattinson, her father William Davison and mother Sadie Violet Davison, twin daughters Laureen and Maureen Mattinson, and granddaughter Brittany Taylor.
Pauline married her husband Tom on August 8, 1959. They had five daughters over the next 8 years and she worked alongside Tom on the family farm until they moved to Camrose in 2014. Pauline was a talented artist and seamstress, she sculpted, painted and created dolls and toys that were cherished by many.
Musically inclined; Pauline mastered many instruments including guitar, fiddle, autoharp, dulcimer, and harmonicas in every key. She and Tom hosted many sing alongs and were involved in the family band with Tom’s brother Bill.
Animal husbandry included raising goats, rabbits, poultry and chinchillas, and “many horses” alongside husband Tom.
Pauline was a woman of great faith and remained active in bible studies until her passing.
Pauline’s celebration of life will be held Wednesday, September 28 th , 2022 at Golden valley Lutheran Church Viking, Alberta at 3:30 P.M. with burial at the Viking cemetery, Viking, Alberta. Lunch will follow at the Golden Valley Lutheran Church.
