On Thursday, October 27, 2022, Paula Sands, a member of Walpole Island First Nation joined her ancestors in the spirit world at the age of 50. Loving daughter of Donna (Myers) Sands and the late Walter Sands. She will be forever missed by her spouse Jake Peters, her children Tony Sands, Ben Sands, Charlie Sands and her grandchildren Arionna, Logan, Brayden, Daitin, Addison and Allison. Paula was a special sister to George (Mel), Hope (Moha), Rich, Mikie, Andy (Clarissa), CJ and dearest Auntie to many nieces and nephews; Darr, Hailey, Rylan, Emmy, Shay, Shkuhnodin, Madison, Mkwum, Biwaabin, Gage, Kase and Raven. Paula will be resting at Walpole Island Sports Complex. Family visitation will take place on Sunday, October 29, 2022, Community visitation will be held on Monday, October 31, 2022. Her funeral will be held at the arena on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at 11am followed by burial at Highbanks Cemetery. Paula’s care has been entrusted to Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home (409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg, 519-627-3231).
