Paul Charles Cantin passed away peacefully at Bluewater Health on October 13, 2022 at the age of 84. Paul is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Alma, and their children and their families: Cheryl (Jim, Amy and Alex, Tyler and Gillian), Brad (Marinette, Lauren), Beth (Trevor, Reid, Kira and their dad, Jay), and Jay (Steph and new baby, Claire). Also survived by his great granddaughter Annika (Amy & Alex). Predeceased by his sister, Karen, and his parents.
Paul grew up in Red Lake, ON and was a Mechanical Engineer. He was employed at Polysar for 40 years. Paul was a passionate fisherman, loved his garden, dogs and the outdoors. Paul will be deeply missed for his vast knowledge, support, generosity and integrity.
The family wishes to thank the many acquaintances who brightened Paul’s days with short driveway chats and dog greetings. A special thank you to the nurses, Mary and Rachael, for their compassion and care.
A private family gathering was held at Smith Funeral Home. Donations can be made in Paul’s name to the Bluewater Anglers or the Sarnia & District Humane Society (cheques only at the funeral home please).
