Paul Raymond Bechard, age 66, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on February 16, 2021.
Paul was born February 11, 1955 to Jeannette (nee Maure) and the late Raymond Bechard. Paul is survived by his loving wife Becky, his children Joseph Bechard and Amanda Perini (Dan) and the apples of his eye, his cherished granddaughters Abigail, Claire & Olivia Perini.
Paul grew up in a large family in Pain Court. He often spoke of the fun he had as a child playing on his grandparents’ farm. He will be fondly remembered by his brothers Tom (Anne-Marie), Bob (Carrie), his sisters Annette Lambe (Jack), Diane Gignac (late Alphonse), Sue Demers (Dan), Janice Meyerink (Dan) and Aline King (John), his in-laws Sandy Shuian (Gary) and Marylou Dugas (Andre) as well as many nieces and nephews, friends, neighbors, colleagues and clients.
Paul is predeceased by his brother in law and pal Alphonse Gignac and his nephew Jeffrey Blommers.
Paul was the proud owner and operator of Dr. Duct Inc. for over 30 years which is why many of his friends affectionately referred to him as “Doc”. He was a lifelong member of the Kent Club where he met so many of his dearest friends. If you’ve ever eaten a Perch Dinner at the Kent Club, chances are, it was prepared with love by Paul.
Paul was an avid camper and spent many summers towing the fifth wheel to new places with old friends and vice versa. He cherished the moments spent golfing with his son Joe and his friends, fishing, cooking and baking for his “girls”.
He was a stoic man. Often quiet and always gentle, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, watching movies, cracking jokes and sipping Remy.
Many thanks for the extraordinary care provided by his team of Doctors, home care workers and nurses. Special thanks to Kelly at CKHA who guided his family through his final moments with grace and compassion.
Cremation has taken place; the details regarding the Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
At the request of his family, donations in memory of Paul can be made to New Beginnings ABI & Stroke Recovery Association newbeginnings-cksl.com/donate/ or a charity of your choice.
In the words of the great “Doc” himself, “It’s been a good ride!”
