Paul’s Obituary
Dill, Paul Albert – 75, of Middleton, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2022 in Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born on August 9, 1946 in Verdun, Quebec, he was the eldest son of the late Helen Miller (Chalmers) and Paul Roop Dill. Paul loved his sports in his youth excelling in all positions goalie. In his teens, he joined a boy band as lead vocalist and tried a stint at making it a living but then joined the CNR in Montreal and later the VIA Rail division where he was station agent and in customer service. Upon retirement, he moved to his grandparents’ home in Middleton for a relaxed life in the Valley. With a strong tenor voice, Paul was a member of the Middleton Choral Society and the Lawrencetown Male Choir. He was cantor for many years at St. Monica’s Roman Catholic Church, Middleton where he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Susan (MacDonald), Middleton; daughter Wendy (Todd) Burnham, Medicine Hat, AB; son Trevor Dill (Sarah), Oshawa, ON; grandchildren Cassidy Burnham and Chance Burnham, both of Medicine Hat, AB; and brother George Dill, Bridgewater. Thank you to the kind doctors and nurses at Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital who cared for Paul. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, May 31, 2022 in St. Monica’s Roman Catholic Church, Middleton Fr. Keith Billard officiating. A reception will follow the service and all are welcome. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Cemetery, Wolfe Island, ON at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home 398 Main Street (902) 825-3448.
