Obituary of Patricia Joyce Smith
SMITH, Patricia Joyce
(née Slaughter)
July 17, 1921 – June 20, 2022
Supported by loving care provided by staff at Wintergreene and from Seniors Home Call, together with her local family, Patricia was unreservedly ready to cross her own rainbow bridge. On the evening of June 18th, she said, “I’ve had a wonderful life.”, next asked about the well-being of others she loved, and then listed her favourite flowers (“roses, tulips, larkspur, daffodils, iris, sweet peas and peonies”), while we held hands.
A private celebration of life will be held at her home for almost 16 years, Wintergreene Estates, with a private interment at Riverside Memorial Park (in the Field of Honour: her husband, J. V. “Vic” Smith was a RCAF WWII veteran). Further service details and a full obituary will follow in a later edition of the Leader-Post.
Floral tributes gratefully declined. In her memory, please consider contributing to the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre, 2180 23rd Avenue, Regina, SK S4S 0A5, or the YWCA, Isabel Johnson Centre, 1940 McIntyre Street, Regina, SK S4P 2R3. Pat was a life-long volunteer, encouraging so many others to join in: Wascana’s Volunteer Program was just one example.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Patricia
