Obituary
Patricia Wright (Howley)
May 3, 1934 – January 12, 2022
“To live will be an awfully big adventure.”
Born in Dewsbury, England, 4th of 9 children. At 21, Pat emigrated alone to Toronto where she met her husband, Colin (predeceased December 2019). They were married for 61 years, had 4 children, and lived a life of adventure.
Pat was an exemplary homemaker, and created homes for her family across Canada, including Toronto, Vancouver, Namu, Ocean Falls, Fort St. John, Port Coquitlam and Mission, to name only a few. Her later years were spent in Carleton Place, Ontario, in the last two years in the loving care of her daughter Tracey and her sons. To Pat home was not a place – it was wherever her family was.
Pat loved children and ran a home daycare for many years. Never idle, she worked many part-time jobs, and returned to full-time work in the Bookstore of Simon Fraser University at 55, retiring 9 years later.
Left to remember, cherish, and mourn are children Melinda Henson (Joe), Paul Wright (Diana Ollmann), Tracey Wright, and Tessa Wright (Andrew Boden), grandchildren Stephanie (Nathan), Carolyn (Andrew), Diana (Stefan), Nick, Steve, Jake, Darcy (Remy) and Reese, along with family in England and the US.
The adventure was long, joyful, and full of twists and turns. And now it is over, the next one begins.
