Pat Smith died unexpectedly on April 3, 2022 in Duncan. Born in Salt Lake City, Pat moved to San Francisco in the 1960s, where she went to college and met and married her husband of 48 years, John. They moved from Mill Valley to Cordova Bay in 1973, where they lovingly raised their sons. Pat’s genuine love for people helped her succeed as a Realtor in Victoria. Pat and John loved travel, even traveling Europe for 6 months in a VW microbus with an infant and a toddler. They visited about 90 countries together and lived for extended periods in Tenerife and Buenos Aires. Pat endured many losses, including her parents Archie and Alice, brother Stephen, sister Janet, husband John, and son Jonathan. However, as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Pat drew comfort from the Bible’s promise that God “will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more.” (Rev. 21:4) For the last 10 years, Pat volunteered full-time, sharing her hope for the future with others. Pat is survived by her son Jeremy (Monet), brother James (Bonnie) and daughter-in-law Denise. Pat cherished her family and friends, all of whom will miss her dearly.
