Patricia (Pat) Poirier
1946-2022
Patricia (Pat) Poirier
(nee-Lang) passed away Friday, July 22 peacefully and at the time and
place of her own choosing.
Pat is survived by her
husband Nelson, daughter Christie, sisters Peggy (Dill) and Kathy
(Breaton), and grandchildren Matthew, Alexa, Ben, and
Abigail.
Pat lived a very full
and active enjoyable fulfilling life until the grief of losing her son
David very suddenly in 2008, developing and beating breast cancer with
its associated side effects, but was not able to overcome
Alzheimer’s disease which in recent months had become very
challenging.
Pat very much loved
her children and grandchildren as well as her companion animal family
that have always been a very significant part of the family
unit.
Pat opened and
operated Moncton Pet World that was very rewarding to her as well as
the many pet owners that frequently made the facility their pleasure
to visit and supply their pet’s needs.
At Pat’s
request, there will be no formal funeral and her ashes will be laid to
rest at the Scotch Settlement Cemetery to be with her son and very
much-loved in-laws.
In lieu of the formal
goodbye, Pat would ask the many friends she has made over her long
life to take a special fifteen minutes to meditate and recall the many
special moments spent together.
The depth of gratitude
to members of the medical community over recent years to address the
more challenging times cannot be measured. Members of that community
Dr. Bill Taylor, Dr. Melanise Doucet, Dr. Andrea Robichaud-Galiano,
Dr. Heather Tait, Dr. Maged Salem, Dr. Annette Thebeau, Julie
Belliveau, Ernie Chase, Chantel Arsenault and Dr. Richard Morcom
within that caring medical community can never be thanked
enough.
Pat was a member of
St. Paul’s United Church in Riverview. Her
arrangements have been entrusted to Cobb’s Funeral Home and
Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007).
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Patricia Pat Poirier 19462022..
