Parr, Sherman
April 30, 1943 ~ April 02, 2022
Sherman Parr (78 yrs.) with family at his side graduated into the presence of our Lord on April 2, 2022. Sherman was the son of the late Sherman Parr (1964) and Stella (nee Wilson 1978). He is survived by the love of his life Carolyn (nee Bradley) devoted in marriage for over 56 years. Cherished father to Jason Parr (wife Iris), Brent Parr (wife Angela), and Lauren Van Ewyk (husband Ken). Much loved grandfather to Olivia Parr and our precious predeceased grandson, Mikail Dylan (2015), Adia, Naomi and Josephine Parr, Josiah Van Ewyk (wife Hope), Emily Tunstill (husband Brent), and Micah Van Ewyk. Special Papa to Tiffany, Chris and Carson. Radiant great grandfather to baby Ariah Grace Tunstill. Sherman was also predeceased by sisters, Gloria Marshall and Mary Lee Apps. and niece Jennifer Busch. Sherman was an employee of Esso Research, Sarnia location and in latter years travelled and presented at ASTM conferences across the USA. He also believed strongly in the value of education and served as a trustee with the Lambton County Board of Education (currently LKDSB). Sherman served in church leadership over the years, encouraged his family in setting priorities and for the past 22 years was deeply blessed by our loving church family at Colonial Woods Missionary Church, Port Huron MI. As a member of the Antique and Classic Car Club of Canada, Chemical Valley Region, he valued the many friendships of fellow classic car enthusiasts. He too was grateful for the agricultural heritage passed on through the Parr lineage and managed a cow/calf operation just north of Sombra. Truly our family saw him as a bold leader, and with intent, sought justice, loved mercy and walked in obedience to his calling. His legacy we value. The family is grateful for the wonderful end of life care through St. Joseph’s Hospice, Dr. Kim. Dr. Maddison and the loving care of the nurses, PSWs and volunteer staff. Your diligent attention and provision was amazing to us.
