September 21, 2022 will forever be etched in the memory of:
Her husband of sixty-five years, Ruben;
Her children: Benjie (Martha), Ruby (Ike), Rosemary (Dong), Rolando (Neth), and Romel (Zita);
Her grandchildren: Mikey (Lindsay), Marc, Koy, Jona (Abby), Nico (Nicole), Pia (Jad), Cel, Sammie, and Kayla;
Her great-grandchildren: Benji and Riley.
To her family, she was the epitome of love. Their hearts are broken and will always bear a scar until that day comes when they meet her again and never part.
Lovingly called by relatives as Atching Sitang & Imang Rosing and by friends as Rose, she will be greatly missed. She was kind, generous, and always willing to help in any way she can.
She was an elementary and high school teacher in the Philippines for many years until she immigrated to Canada in 1976. She worked at the Montreal General Hospital’s Interns Residence and Medical Records Office, until she retired in 1997.
She was an excellent cook; her food was prepared with lots of love and care, cherished by her family and friends. With her unconditional love and support, she nourished their souls as well.
In her last month of life, she was cared for by Dr. Marie Webber, the palliative team at St. Mary’s Hospital in Montreal, and then was fortunate to have experienced the caring community at Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence (TDPCR) in Kirkland. Her family is grateful for the kindness and compassion afforded them during her time at TDPCR. Together with her family, she was in the best of care as they journeyed together through support that respects the end of life and upheld her dignity throughout.
