It is with the heaviest of
hearts that we, his family and friends, share the news of the passing
of our ‘golden boy’ Dale Snowdon, a term that he
deserved. Dale hated being the center of attention but alas, we have
the last say in this tribute that will undoubtedly fall short of being
worthy.
Dale passed away early morning
on Thursday, July 14th, 2022, at The Moncton Hospital at the age of
44, with his family by his side. Born in Moncton he is the son of
Susan (Currie) and the late M. Dale Snowdon.
Dale loved his wife Erin and the
family they created who completed him, with his son River and the
daughter he had always wanted, Taylor. Erin lit the spark under
Dale’s butt that certainly drove him to do things outside of
his comfort zone. His son River could breathe the air into the lungs
of a dying man, who found the energy to have his final words be
“I love you River”. Taylor brought completeness to
Dale’s life, and he loved her as if she were his own
daughter.
Dale loved golfing with his two
favourite boys, Chris and Sean. He was a Blue Jays fan regardless of
the season they were having, and he loved the Maple Leafs (yes, we
know, we question that too). He loved to watch football at his
favourite watering hole, Five Bridges, and enjoyed steak night with
his little buddy and brother-in-law Chris. Dale was the General Sales
Manager at Subaru of Moncton, with many years working within the
automobile industry. Dale was a Subaru guy until the end, and he loved
his work and loved his Subaru family. Dale loved watching
his children play sports and could often be found at the rink cheering
River on and shaking his head every time River was in the penalty
box.
To the man who we all loved
deeply and for so many different reasons, we go against your wishes to
fly under the radar, and we scream your praises. Erin, River and
Taylor will always be your prize and we will cherish them as you would
have.
Dale did not lose a fight with
cancer, because as we all know, Dale was not a fighter, and this is
one battle he would never have chosen. Dale always said he would run
from a fight, so keep running Dale, and we will be waiting for you at
the finish line while dad keeps you safe for us.
Dale is survived by his wife
Erin Crawford and their precious kids Taylor Horsman and River
Snowdon; mother, Susan Snowdon; sisters, Kelly Snowdon (Tim), and Beth
Snowdon-Murdock (Chris), his nephew Tanner Snowdon who was like a
brother to him. He will also be missed by many extended family members
in Fredericton, Ontario, Edmonton, Moncton and Saint John
areas.
He was predeceased by his father
M. Dale Snowdon in 2000.
A celebration of life will be
held at a later date.
A private graveside service will
be held at Alderwood Cemetery.
Donations in Dale’s memory can
be made to the friends of the Moncton Hospital
Foundation.
