Obituary
Owen Kay Kesler (June 17, 1936 – January 5, 2022) of Nanton, Alberta passed away at South Health Campus in Calgary, on January 5, 2022. Beloved husband of Eleanor (Friesen) for 25 years.
He was the fourth child of Sam and Jessie Kesler, brother to Arthur and Gordon (both deceased) and is survived by his sister Lavore, children; Don, Steve, Rick, Jim, Michael and Laurel, grandchildren Craig, Carolyn, Trevor, Amber, Haley, Hannah, Christie and Luke, great-grandchildren Blake, Danika and Levi, step sons Hal and Wade(Heather), grandchildren Eric and Alyssa.
Owen was born in Lethbridge and grew up in Picture Butte, Alberta. As a young man he joined the Armed Forces and was stationed in France and Trenton, Ontario where he worked as an Aircraft Mechanic. Upon locating to Calgary, he started Kesler Aviation and continued his aviation career for almost 50 years. When he wasn’t working, Owen would often spend his time outdoors enjoying his lifelong passions of fishing, hunting and camping with members of his family.
A viewing will take place on Thursday, January 13th from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM, at Snodgrass Funeral Home in High River, Alberta.
A service will be held, but due to public health restrictions, the family has requested it be a private affair.
