Otto Visser passed away at Gateway Haven, Wiarton on August 28, 2022, in his 78th year. Otto was born in the Netherlands and emigrated to Canada in 1961. He finished high school in Owen Sound, and enjoyed playing soccer, sailing, swimming and played the trumpet in his own Dixieland Band. In 1983 his inquisitive and adventurous nature resulted in he and his wife sailing from Owen Sound across the Atlantic to his birthplace in the Netherlands. He enjoyed teaching Power Squadron courses in boating and navigation. He worked in various capacities and eventually had his own accounting practice. He was quiet, kind and compassionate and will be dearly missed by his loving wife Paulien, his brothers-in-law Hubert and Han (Netherlands) Vandestadt, his sisters-in-law Johanna Wit and Marjon Kools (Netherlands) and by his many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his sisters, Siebea Vandestadt (2021) and Teddy Noya (2022). Special thanks and gratitude to the great staff at Gateway for their thoughtful care of Otto, during his 7 months stay there. A private gathering will be held in the future. If so desired, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Grey Bruce or the Grey Bruce Regional Health Centre would be appreciated. Cremation has been arranged through Grey Bruce Cremation and Burial Services. For online condolences, please visit www.greybrucecremation.com.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Otto Visser 2022..
