Oscar Thomas (Tom) Dalton – age 72 of Grainger County, TN went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, after a brief illness. Tom was born January 29, 1950 in Rutledge, TN. He served in the U.S. Army from 1969-1972 during the Vietnam Era. Tom was a licensed contractor for over thirty years.
Preceded in death by father, Colbia Dalton; mother, Paulene Dalton; daughter, Beth Ann Dalton Fite; one sister; and three brothers.
Survived by wife of 35 years, Sherry Dalton; grandchildren, Chelsea Conard and Nicklos Conard; sister, Mary (Mancel) Seals; brothers, Colbia (Charlene) Dalton, Jr. and Lawrence Ogan of GA; mother-in-law, Billie Hill; two sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews; special friend, Tommy Merriman; along with many other friends.
The family will receive friends 4:00-6:00 PM on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at Bridges Funeral Home followed by the funeral service at 6:00 PM with Pastor Gary Satterfield officiating. Family and friends will meet 1:45 PM on Wednesday at East TN Veterans Cemetery-John Sevier Highway for a 2:00 PM interment. Military honors will be provided by Tri-County Veteran Honor Guard.
