Orva Smith 1950 2022

Orva Smith, 72, of Moncton passed away peacefully on
Thursday, June 9, 2022. Born in Dalhousie, she was the daughter of the
late James and Wanda (Traverse) MacPherson.
Orva worked as an RNA and was a former manager of Stirling
Apple. She was a member of Sunny Brae Legion Branch #54 enjoyed
knitting and crochet, but her true pride was in her family and being
called Nanny.
Orva is survived by her children, Tina York (Jason), Kelly
Halfpenny (Alan), James Smith (Melissa) and Heather McPherson by
proxy; grandchildren, Jaden York, Ewan Halfpenny, Jaxen York, Colton
Smith and Mason Smith; brothers and sisters Linda Bourdage (Danny),
Jim MacPherson (late Flo), Lorne Macpherson (Karen), Harvey MacPherson
(Diane), David MacPherson (Sherri) and Sally MacPherson;
brother-in-law Brian Smith (Sherry), as well as many nieces and
nephews.
Aside by her parents, she was predeceased by her husband
Terrance “Terry” Smith, stepfather Dennis Goodwin, niece
Debbie Pelletier, sister-in-law Shirley Smith.
In keeping with Orva’s wishes a private family
service will be held.
Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton
(858-1995) in care of arrangements.
In memory of Orva, memorial donations can be made to the NB
Heart and Stoke Foundation, Canadian Diabetes Association or Sunny
Brae Legion would be appreciated. Online condolences for the family
