Bellamy, Olwen May (nee Jones-Williams)
Olwen was born in Abercynon, South Wales March 27,1924 and passed away at Lanark Heights LTC, Kitchener ON February 18, 2022.
A heartfelt thank you to the staff at Lanark for their loving care these past four years. Olwen served in the British Women’s Land Army from 1944 to 1946 and came to Canada as a War Bride in 1946. Olwen was a dedicated volunteer for the hospital auxiliary in various communities. She was an avid bridge player and formed friendships that lasted throughout her lifetime.
Olwen is predeceased by husband Ben and survived by her sister Irene, daughter Lynda, son Robert, grandsons Ben and Jaques and great-grandson Charles.
Cremation has taken place.
There will be a Graveside Service for Olwen and Ben in Flesherton Ontario later this year.
A tree will be planted in memory of Olwen in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville.
