Obituary of Olivia Cameron
It is with very heavy hearts that the family of Caroline Olivia (Stewart) Cameron of Hazel Glen announce her passing in the Aberdeen Hospital on May 16, 2022 at the age of 75.
Olivia was the daughter of the late Wesley and Catherine (Thompson) Stewart. Before retirement, Olivia worked at the Glen Haven Manor as a Personal Care Worker (PCW), a role she enjoyed for many years.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years James (Jim) Cameron of Hazel Glen; daughter Elizabeth (Betty) Cameron, Hazel Glen; sons Douglas (Cathy) Cameron, Elmfield and Alex (Sheila Wilcox) Cameron, Hazel Glen; son-in-law Michael Sears, Halifax; grand-children Kyle, Cameron, Gordon, Blair, Aaron, Jeremy, Jennifer, Brandon, Tyler and Eric; great grand-children Sawyer, Levi and Hazel. She is also survived by brother Tom Stewart, Westville; nephews Earle and Luke and nieces Colleen and Carrie. She was pre-deceased by sister Patricia (Patsy) Carson, brother-in-law Graham Carson and infant sister Laureen.
Family meals were very important to Olivia as she often had children and grandchildren around her on Sundays. Perhaps the most important event in her calendar was the annual July first celebration she and husband Jim would host at their home. The day would feature a buffet with endless salads and meats from the BBQ and of course the famous dessert table. The day would be hardly over when she would begin planning for the next July first event. Throughout her lifetime, Olivia also enjoyed cooking, baking, crafts, sewing, quilting, Pepsi and making sure everyone was working in the right direction.
There will be no visitation or funeral and a burial will occur on June 27 at Valley View Cemetery, East River St. Mary’s at 10:00am. A reception will be had following the grave side service at Jim and Olivia’s home. Cremation has taken place under the care of Eagles Funeral Home in Westville. Donations in Olivia’s memory may be made to the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Society.
