Heffell – The death
occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Thursday,
February 17, 2022, of Ferne Heffell, RN, of Summerside, aged 85 years.
Born in St. Nicholas, she was the daughter of the late Sterling and
Hattie (Gamble) Ryder. Survived by her children David (Carol), John
(Arlene), Allan and Karen Heffell (Shawn Dickerson); grandchildren
Darcie (Scott) Perry, Nicole (Kirk) Blanchard, Quentin (Dan Hamilton),
Tyler (Kristen Arsenault), Lincoln (Janet Sonethasack),
Jeremy (Brandy Handrahan), Kailey Dickerson and Tiernan
Dickerson; great-grandchildren Georgina Perry, Kayleigh MacNevin and
Ethan Heffell; a sister Beulah Waite; brothers Alden (Ruth) and Wayne
(Laura) Ryder; brothers and sister-in-law Agnes Hardy, Hazel (Vernon)
Stetson, Joyce Heffel, Mary (Eric) Day, Eileen Heffel Taylor
and Doug (Marg) Clarke; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her husband Linus Heffell; a sister-in-law Myrna
Clarke; brothers-in-law Wesley Heffel, Ralph Hardy, Ivan Waite,
Waldron Heffel and Don Taylor; grandson-in-law Dustin Lord; a niece
Robin Ryder; and by a great nephew Carter Awender. Resting
at Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, where a private funeral service
will be held. Interment later in Peoples Cemetery,
Summerside. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Heart and
Stroke Foundation or the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be
appreciated.
