Olga’s Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Olga Rock announce her peaceful passing at the Canora Hospital, Canora, SK, on Sunday, January 23, 2022.
Olga was born on March 25, 1928, and she lived most of her life in the Canora area.
Olga was a nurse’s aide, restaurant owner, florist and most of all a loving mother and very proud Baba. She spent her post working years donating her time and knowledge of making perogies to the Ukrainian Catholic Church in Canora. She loved visiting with her many friends, neighbors, and family. Also, many hours were spent tending to her garden and when harvest time came, she would then be busy pickling and making perogies for all her boys and grandchildren. She loved when everyone was home and would cook for the entire family, playing games and especially cards. Her favorite game being “President”.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Olga was predeceased by her husband, Ted; son, Darryl; sisters, Mary, Josephine, and Leona; and brothers, Frank, Sam, Mike and Bill.
She is survived by her sons, Bradley (Patty), Adrien (Chelsea), Calvin, and Jason; daughter-in-law, Donna; and grandchildren: Allyson, Kody, Brittany (Vogeson) Paley, Ryley Boeschen, Madison, Matthew, Joshua, Heaven, Hope, and Kaden; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A Public Visitation will be held from 7:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, January 31, 2022, at the Chapel of Leson’s Funeral Home, Canora, SK. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 1, 2022, from Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Canora, SK, with Very Rev. Fr. J. Rac as Celebrant. Rite of Committal will follow in the Canora Cemetery, Canora, SK. Those wishing to make expressions of sympathy may make donations to Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church or to the Canora Hospital Auxiliary, as tokens of remembrance, in memory of Olga Rock.
