Long, Norma Shirley
1934 – 2022
Passed away at her office doing what she loved “Selling Real Estate” on Wednesday October 5th, 2022. She lived life on her own terms never having to lose her independence or give up the job she did for over 50 years. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was loved by many.
Her parents Louise & Maruis Christensen immigrated from Denmark to Canada. Norma was born in the original town of Islington village on a farm. Norma moved to the Bobcaygeon area 60 years ago. A town she was so proud to live in and be a part of a wonderful community.
Norma is survived by her daughter Jacqueline Voit, son in-law Bill Voit, son Larry Moore, beloved grandchildren Danielle Voit, Matthew Voit, Joshua Moore, Reid Long and Amber Long. She is predeceased by her son Barry Long, granddaughter Lena Long, sister Mary, sister Edna and brother Pete.
A celebration of life will be held at Hendren Funeral Homes, 6 Helen Street, Bobcaygeon on October 16th from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. The family will speak at 2:00pm. Anyone wishing to share something about Norma may do so after the family. She will be buried in a private ceremony at Verulam cemetery on October 17th close to her mom Louise Christensen and sister Edna Christensen.
