Obituary of Norman William Trusz
TRUSZ, Norman William – age 63 of Stewiacke. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Norman on Sunday, February 27th, 2022 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, with his brother Byron by his side. Born in Glace Bay, Norman was a son of the late William and Robina (Stewart) Trusz.
In his younger years, Norman travelled to Ontario and British Columbia before returning home to Cape Breton and eventually moved to Stewiacke where he lived for many years. A man of many abilities, Norman displayed great talents as a carpenter, repairman, labourer, landscaper, gardener and caregiver. Norman touched the hearts and lives of many people along the way and will be remembered with love for his compassion, devotion to family and friends, steadfast dependability and sense of humour.
Norman is survived by his brother, Byron (Brenda); lifelong devoted friends, Keith and Anne Shears, Sydney; Howie and Wenna Gardiner, Sydney Mines; Frank Penny; Sydney; Marg Turnbull, Sydney; Kevin Hayes, Sydney; Fiona Baby, Burnaby, B.C.; Ivan (Diane) MacPhee, Stewiacke.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. A celebration of Norman’s life will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Palliative Care Unit, Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, or to a charity of your choice in Norman’s memory.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the VON staff, the paramedics and the Palliative Care staff at Colchester East Hants Health Centre for their excellent care of Norman during his illness. Also a special thanks to Dr. Philip Wells, Janice Dares and Dr. Joanne Warren for their many years of care and support.
