Norman Vaughan Brandt 2022

May 26, 1962 – February 3, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Norman, of Severn Bridge, on Thursday February 3, 2022, at the age of 59 years.
Norman’s proudest accomplishments in life were his wife, his children, and his grandchildren. Beloved husband, soul mate, and best friend to Terrie. They were together for 36 wonderful years and married for 31, creating many unforgettable memories that Terrie will always hold close to her heart. You could see the love in his eyes when he looked at his wife and how he just wanted to give her the world. Loving father to Norman (Rie), Alexander, Jesse, Kayla, Bailey, and Shannon (Mitchell). Having an extra special place in his heart for his buddy, Butler (the dude). There was no separating Norman and Butler, and his children would often joke that Butler was his favourite child. Cherished grandfather to Hayate, Adley, and one on the way. You could see the love shine in Norman’s eyes whenever he would talk about or see his grandchildren. Loving son to the late A. Donald Brandt and survived by his mother, Doris Brandt. He would always talk about how he loved to be with his mother, enjoying a nice cup of coffee over a few games of parcheesi. Much loved brother to Don, Curt (Kaaren), and Troy. Having worked together, Norman and Curt had the luxury of spending a lot of time together. His brothers were everything to him. Always loved and remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Norman will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
Norman was very involved in helping his family and his community, spending most of his time doing things for others. He was a master of tradecraft who was proud of his work, often taking the time to explain to his family about the projects he was working on. There was not a single thing he couldn’t do. There is over a million things that can be said as a testament to who he was as a person. He was not afraid to express his personality or opinions. His wife and kids will especially miss his sense of humour and just being together enjoying all the little things that make life what it is. He did so much for his family, and he never wanted anything in return, rather he just wanted to spend time together. All of them are so proud to have had him as a husband, a father, and best friend.
His family would like to thank the community for their outpouring love and support in this difficult time, as it is a direct reflection of Norman’s good nature and willingness to help others. His family would also like to thank his friends and the community for honouring Norman’s memory by turning on their Christmas lights so everyone can reflect on his inextinguishable shine. As per Norman’s wishes, cremation will take place. A celebration of life will occur at a future date and time to be determined. If desired, donations can be made to Lupus Canada in Normans memory.

  1. Deepest condolences to Terrie and family. I was so saddened to hear of Norm’s passing.
We were neighbors back when the Brandt’s lived on Victoria Blvd. In Toronto. I lived across the street with my husband Steve.
A funny memory of Norm was at Halloween. The Brandts had quite a display and Norm would dress up in a costume and stand very still until the trick or treaters realized he was real. It was really quite entertaining and Norm was having a ball. The memory always makes me smile. He was a kind soul who will be greatly missed by his family.
