Obituary
Peacefully on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, Norma Blanche Robinson (nee Fleet) passed away at Alexander Place LTC, Waterdown in her 95th year. Beloved wife to the late Edwin Bruce Robinson (September 14, 2020). Loving mother to Shirley (Brad) MacCormack, Cathy (Harry) Gallagher, Betty (Bob) Campbell and John Robinson. Proud grandmother to 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Sister to †Blake & †Laura Fleet, †Ralph & Jean Fleet, †Howard & Jennie Fleet, Phyliss & †Pete Carey, Lorne & Wanda Fleet, †Orval & Dorothy Fleet, Ivan & Cathy Fleet, Marion & John Brokloff and Marg & †Murdock MacAskill. Sister-in-law to Ruth & †Bob McCuen.
Blanche, as she preferred, was born in the Peel township on May 23rd, 1928. She was the 2nd oldest of 10 children. With so many siblings younger than herself, Blanche had many responsibilities at an early age. At the young age of 19, Blanche married the love of her life “Bruce”, and they were married for over 70 years. Farming was their life’s ambition. They loved country living. In earlier years, their social life was very active in the winter months – bowling, square dancing, many card games – especially euchre and of course many family get togethers.
Blanche was the ultimate homemaker – she was a great cook, baking was her specialty (homemade dinner rolls, butter tarts and pies) to name a few. There was always time to make preserves as well – jams, pickles, peaches.
Young children, especially little babies, were a great joy to Blanche. She loved to see the young ones and asked about them often.
A heartfelt thanks to Alexander Place, Home Area 1 for the great care and support that they gave Norma Blanche in her final couple years of life.
Visitation will be held at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown on Sunday, November 6, 2022, from 2 – 5 p.m. where a Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 7, 2022, at 11 a.m. followed with interment at Carlisle Cemetery.
