Nora Broomfield
March 1, 1938 – Sept. 3, 2022
Cartwright, NL
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Nora Edna Broomfield announce her passing on September 3, 2022, in Cartwright at the age of 84. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories is life partner Silas Williams or Honey, as she liked to call him. Children: Leah, Rick (Susan), Lorne, Kathy (Lloyd), Elizabeth, Darren (Sue) and Dwayne (Kelly), Daughter-in-law Claudia. A large circle of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her sister Alma (Eugene) and brother Tony (Alva), and sister-in-law Dorothy (Roy). She is also leaving behind a number of nieces and nephews.
Nora is predeceased by: son Joe, son George, parents George and Sevilla Martin and sisters Grace and Hazel.
Nora was dearly loved by those who knew her and was well-known for her love of Bingo, darts, scratch cards and playing a few rounds of cards, and, of course, her famous and delicious cinnamon buns. She also loved being in boat, fishing, and berry picking, especially around Paradise River and Pack’s Harbour. She had a good sense of humour and liked to make people laugh, without even trying most of the time.
