The family of Nona Deinum is saddened to announce her peaceful passing on August 5, 2022, in Stony Plain, AB, at the age of 94.
Nona is survived by her loving husband, Martin; sister, Bernie; granddaughters: Ona and Tanya; great-grandchildren: Kevin (Ashley), Daylen, Rylan, Grayson; and her great-great-grandchildren: Cayde and Ellie; among many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son, Buck; and daughter, Bonnie; as well as her father, Earnest; and Mother, Cora; as well as 12 other siblings.
Nona was born on July 6th, 1928, in Oyen, Alberta. She was an accomplished athlete, and a fierce provider and caregiver to those who would call her family. There’s no one in the world that Nona loved and cared for more than her husband of 51 years; Marty was the love of her life. Despite her mobility difficulties in her later years there was nothing that would stop her, and Marty, and Bonnie from heading out on wild and adventurous road trips in the motor home (or even just to the Tim Hortons and then Walmart for just a little look). The joy she experienced when watching the children that would be her legacy was palpable. The care and consideration she gave to their regard, always asking if they needed anything, will be missed. She very seriously would have given any of them the world. Our Nona was fierce in her ability to love, and this sustained her to her 94th year. We will miss our delightful little ball of spice.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Nona Rose Deinum 2022..
