Nola Mae Richter
Dec 20, 1936 – Nov 30, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce that our mother, Nola Mae Richter, 85, of Cochrane, Alberta passed away with her daughters Janice and Leslee by her side.
Nola was the daughter of John and Hazel McCann and grew up in Hythe, Alberta. Eventually she moved to Edmonton where she met John Richter, her husband of 63 years. She had a career as an administrator with the Northern Alberta Railway and as a school secretary in Kelowna, BC., where she and John lived for 45 years. Nola was known for her gift of “making a piano talk” and performed at many functions and family gatherings.
Nola is survived by her husband John, daughters Janice Richter Egan (husband Mark) and Leslee Oudman (husband Robert). Her grandchildren Alison Davie, Rebecca Oudman, Kenzie Egan and Connor Egan. Her great-grandchildren Peyton and James Davie.
As was Nola’s wishes, she will have a celebration of her life
in Kelowna in April 2023.

  1. Over the past four years Nola has become a dear friend and special person in my life. I have enjoyed her humour and pragmatic approach to life. I will miss our outings, chatting over coffee and our amazement at the some of the daily occurrences and the humour we found in them.

My best wishes to John, Janice , Leslie and families
