Alexander, Noëla Rosemary (Nee: Eid)
December 25, 1935 – November 8, 2022
It is with full hearts and gratitude for a life extremely well lived that we share news of the passing of Noëla Alexander (nee Eid) peacefully and comfortably at the age of 86 years. Born in Plymouth, Montserrat to her loving parents, the late Mireille and Emmanuel Eid. Cherished wife of almost 60 years and best friend of Fred Alexander. Loving mother of Ken Alexander (Tamara) of Toronto, Jeanne Girard of Chatham and Stephen Alexander of Windsor. Proud Grandmother and ‘Gma’ to Collin Girard, Jacqueline Girard (Darrin), Nicole Burniston (Ross), and Jonah and Ryan Alexander. Doting Great Grandmother and ‘GiGi’ to Vincent Girard and Hannah Prieur. Noëla is also survived by her brother LeRoy Eid (Diane) brother in law Frank Brooks, and sister in law Cathy Cook (Patrick.) She is preceded in passing by her parents, her sisters Josette Brooks and Jacqueline Schen (Sanford), and her brothers Ronald and Albert Eid. She was loved and admired by many nieces and nephews, who she treated more like her own children due to the close-knit nature of her family. Noëla was also treasured by cousins and friends in both the West Indies, Europe, and North America. Noëla was deeply active in her community, as a member of the Catholic Women’s League at the Parish of the Atonement. She led the Bereavement Committee there, where she brought comfort to families who were saying their own farewells to loved ones. With her many friends over the years, they adopted immigrant and refugee families in Windsor and provided comfort and necessities to help them transition to a new life. Noëla was a professional florist and crafts maker, an epicurean of the highest order, and a born entertainer with an eye for detail. She was a connector and a storyteller, a wealth of inspirational musings, and a woman of deep Catholic faith. She will be so truly missed by those who were fortunate enough to have passed even the briefest of time in her presence. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a contribution to the charity of your choice, or celebrate a mass in her honour. Cremation has taken place. Memorial Visitation will take place at Windsor Chapel (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. 519-253-7234, on Monday, November 14, 2022 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass to be held at Our Lady of the Atonement Parish, 2940 Forest Glade Dr, Windsor, ON N8R 1L5. Private family committal service at St. Anne Cemetery to follow. Online condolences and cherished memories may be made at www.windsorchapel.com www.windsorchapel.com
