Obituary
The family of Niels Gottler is saddened to announce that Niels passed away peacefully, with his family by his side on October 3, 2022, at the age of 90 years.
Niels was born to Martin and Agnes Gottler, on September 13, 1932, in Denmark. He married the love of his life, Grethe, in 1960, and soon immigrated to Canada in 1961, making Golden, BC his home ever since. In the spring of 1962 Niels founded Niels Gottler Contracting and worked hard building the company until his retirement in 1994. His sons carried in his footsteps with Gottler Brothers Contracting.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 61 years, Grethe Gottler; his sons, Rene (Sherry) Gottler, and Randy (Cheryl) Gottler; his grandchildren, Jordan, Dallas (Andrea), Vanessa, and Devon; great-grandchildren, Colt, Abby, Paislee, Carson and Hudson; his sister, brother, nieces and nephews living in Denmark.
He is sadly predeceased by his parents, Martin and Agnes Gottler.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. at the Golden Senior’s Community Centre.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Golden Hospital would be appreciated.
