Nicolas William Burt, of Desboro, passed away suddenly at home, on Friday, August 5, 2022, at the age of 31. He is now joyfully celebrating in the presence of Jesus.
Born 13 weeks early on December 21, 1990, weighing just 1 lbs 11 ounces, Nick was a walking miracle. The determination he had since birth brought him through elementary and high school in Hanover to Fanshawe College, where he earned a diploma in Construction Engineering Technology. Most recently, he worked for the Municipality of Meaford as their Project Manager of Facilities.
Nick may have been short in stature, but he made up for it in many other ways. He had a big heart for people, no matter who they were. A baseball fanatic and rock-climbing enthusiast, Nick was as sportsmanlike as they came. His pitching arm was well used off the diamond throwing balls on repeat for his loyal dog, Hallie.
Nick was a dedicated family man and a true friend. He accomplished a lot in his short life, but he was proudest of being a husband to Steph and Jovie’s Daddy. His faith and trust in his Lord and Saviour, Jesus, drove all that he did and shaped all that he was. He faithfully served God by humbly serving all those around him.
Nick was so loved by so many people. He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife Stephanie and his precious daughter, Jovie. Survived by his parents Paul and Marcia (Brunner) Burt, his brother Graham (Robyn) Burt, his parents-in-law Ron and Janice McGuire, and his brother-in-law Luke (Courtney) McGuire. Fondly remembered by his aunts and uncles, Carol and David Brownell, Sue Burt, Marjorie Francisco, and Terry Burt, his cousins, Lucas Brownell, Rachael (Simon) Swain, Michael Burt, Matt (Jamie) Burt, Chris Francisco, and Trevor Francisco, as well as by the Burt, Brunner, McGuire, and Ferguson extended families. Cherished by so many good friends.
Nick is predeceased by his loving grandparents, Bill and Bernice Burt and Godfrey and Jeanette Brunner, his uncles George Burt and Ray Francisco, his aunt Judy Burt, his stillborn brother Patrick Burt, and his miscarried niece/nephew Reegan McGuire.
A Memorial Visitation will be held at Hanover Missionary Church (HMC: 628 -11th St), Hanover, on Thursday, August 11, 2022, from 2-4 pm and 6:30-8:30 pm, and on Friday, August 12, 2022 from 10:30-11:30 am prior to the Memorial Celebration of Life which will begin at 12 pm. For those unable to attend, the service will be live streamed and can be viewed on the HMC YouTube channel at: www.youtube.com/user/hmccommunications
As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made in trust for Jovie’s education (cheques payable to Stephanie Burt), to HMC’s Warming Centre, or to HMC Youth (make cheques payable to HMC in memory of Nick).
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Nicolas Burt 2022..
