Nelle Sue Watson – age 67 of Knoxville gained her Heavenly Wings, Saturday, February 5, 2022, with her loving family by her side. She was a beloved Wife, Mother, Mamaw, Sister, and Friend. Nelle was a dedicated member of Eastwood Baptist Church. Nelle was a Breast Cancer Survivor and a CDC Teacher’s Aid for the Knox County School system for 27 years. She loved working with all her Kids and working with the Special Olympics. Nelle loved to drive through Cades Cove.
Preceded in death by parents, Sanford (Buzz) and Agnes Houser.
Survived by husband of 48 years, Oscar Watson III; devoted children, Oscar Len Watson IV, Jason and Donna Watson, Robin and Shane Headrick; beloved grandchildren, Brianna, Blake, Jason Jr., Nathan, Halle, Cooper, Blane, Emma, Baylor, and Haven; brothers, Fred and Brenda Houser, Joe and Tina Romines; sisters, Judy and Jim Kirby, Cathy Houser, Shirley and Sam Neeley; brothers-in-law, Robert and Terrie Watson, Chris Watson; and several nieces, nephews, and special friends.
The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Bridges Funeral Home followed by the funeral service at 7:00 PM with Rev. Mike Sledge officiating. Family and friends will meet 12:00 PM Friday at Bridges Funeral Home and go in procession to Seven Island Cemetery for a 1:00 PM interment. Pallbearers: Blake Watson, Jason Watson Jr., Nathan Watson, Cooper Watson, Caleb Neeley, Andy Watson, Fred Houser Jr., and Matt Romines. Honorary pallbearers: Blane Headrick, Baylor Headrick, Eric Neeley, and Daniel Neeley. In remembrance of Nelle, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Breast Cancer Awareness.
