Nedo’s Obituary
On February 14, 2022, another Angel gained his wings; wings he earned over the years for his work during his time here on earth. Beloved husband of 66 years to Lina (Nee Tardelli), and father to Robert (Jean) and Daniel (Terri-Lynn). Loving grandfather to Christina (Scott), Daniel (Brittany), Jonathan, Amy-Lynn, Jennifer and Matthew, as well as a Bisnonno to eight great-grandchildren. He joins his family in heaven, his mother Ida Corti, father Francesco and, brothers Silvano and Antonio. Nedo is also survived by his sister, Carla, in Tuscany, as well as several nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
Born in Italy, Nedo immigrated to Canada in 1950, at the age of 20 with only $20.00 in his pocket, eventually making Hamilton his home. Nedo owned several small businesses, including Artistic Memorials where he was a Monumental Mason, which he proudly did for over 30 years. His talent and artwork can be found throughout Hamilton and Burlington, including several commemorative plaques he designed for special events that took place over the years. He was an active member of All Souls Church, where you would find him volunteering and involved in various activities, as well as helping to mentor others. He was also the lead male actor for the Sons of Italy-Piccolo Teatro performing in many fundraising plays.
Nedo had a simple philosophy to life: Always work hard and do your best, never stop learning or growing to become a better person. Always be kind and respectful to everyone, and never forget to always help and give back where you can.
The family would like to thank the all the staff at Villa Italia Retirement Home and the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice for their compassionate care and support, and his family physician Dr. Junaid. Visitation will be held at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton St. E., on Friday, February 18th from 2-4 & 6-8p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered at All Souls Church on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 10a.m. with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington. In keeping with COVID-19 precautions, all guests must practice physical distancing and wear a face covering. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you consider making a donation to either the Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice or the Villa Italia-Sons of Italy (Hamilton) Charitable Corporation.
We Love You!
