Obituary of Nancy Patricia Hughes
With great sadness, the family of Nancy Patricia Devlin Hughes announce her passing which occurred on Wednesday, June 29, 2022. Born in Saint John on September 11, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Ronald Devlin and the late Lila Stevens. Nancy is survived by her loving husband of forty years, John Hughes, her daughter LeeAnn Van Weston, her son Jason Van Weston Large (Francine), her son-in-law Peter Milberry, sister Glenda Soucy, Brothers Ron and Mike Devlin, her granddaughters Cait Milberry and Michaela Large, grandsons Cody Sam and Shawn Large and her great-grandchildren, Isabella, Madelyn, Ryker and Peyton St. Coeur Large, as well as several cousins.
Besides her parents, Nancy was predeceased by her brother Raymond Devlin and her stepfather Stuart Stevens.
Nancy loved to knit, do crafts, play bingo and support her family whenever possible. She loved watching and volunteering at Roller Derby and was known by all the girls as “Derby Nan” and was very proud to support the team.
Nancy loved her home that she helped build and thrifting. She loved listening to Alan Jackson, watching her shows and giving everyone a call to check in and say Hi, Sweetie. She will be fiercely missed, and her family will be having a celebration of her life over the coming weeks.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sus, (506-433-1176). All Arrangements will be held privately.
