Nancy L Murrin
1940-2022
The family of Nancy Murrin are saddened to announce her
passing at The Moncton Hospital, on Tuesday, May 10, 2022.
Born in Moncton, NB, she was the daughter of the late George and Sadie
(Sowerby) Smyth.
Nancy had many cherished friends, and she enjoyed the many
social gatherings at her Foundry Street residence, especially Thursday
night shuffleboard. Nancy also treasured her Sowerby
cousins, as well as a very special sister-in-law in
Spaniard’s Bay, NL. She also deeply valued the
fellowship she found through AA.
Nancy was an incredibly hard-working woman. Over
the years, she worked in a variety of positions to provide for her 3
children, including the Admitting Department at The Moncton Hospital,
Manager of the Riverview Mall theatre, as well as a lengthy career as
a Nurse’s Aid at the K.E. Spencer Memorial Home.
Nancy was extremely proud of her children and her grandchildren and
their accomplishments. She was also looking forward to the
birth of her first great-grandchild, a baby boy, in
June.
Nancy will be dearly missed by her daughters Tara Smith
(Stephen), Karen Amos (Kyle); son Richard Murrin (Karen); and
grandchildren Jordan, Mitchell, Rachelle, Sydney, Alex and
Michael. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her
15 month old son David.
Nancy’s family would also like to acknowledge and
extend their deepest thanks to caregiver, Elaine Zamora, for her care
and compassion.
Her family will be receiving friends and relatives at
Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine
Road, Riverview (869-2007) on Wednesday, May 18, from 1 to 3
pm. For those who wish, donations to Friends of The Moncton
Hospital (Unit 4400 or Unit 4100), or Lupus Canada, would be
appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be
