With heartfelt sadness, we announce that Myrtle Sophie Swenson, surrounded by family, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2022, at St Ann’s Home in Saskatoon, at the age of 103 years.
Myrtle was born on April 24, 1919 in the Lake Park District of Saskatchewan to Knute and Amanda Gjesdal. She was raised on the family farm with her seven siblings.
In 1943 she married Clifford Swenson. They were married for 74 wonderful years before his passing in 2018. They worked side by side on the farm in the Birch Hills area until they retired to live in Prince Albert and later moved to Saskatoon.
Myrtle honoured her Norwegian heritage, lived a life of traditional values, was a classy and elegant lady, loved a good laugh and most importantly she always held close, her strong faith in the Lord.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Donald [Lorie] Swenson and Barbara [Lisle] McCallum, her grandchildren Lisa [Kelly] LaBrash, Stephanie [Jeff] Kohle, Erica Swenson, Gordon [Shayla] McCallum and Caroline [Landon] Leclair and her twelve great grandchildren.
We are indebted to the staff at St Ann’s Home for the care and loving attention given to our mother.
Donations in Myrtle’s memory may be made to Kinasao Lutheran Bible Camp, Box 327, Christopher Lake, SK. S0J 0N0
At Myrtle’s request, a private funeral service was held. Arrangements entrusted to Martens Warman Funeral Home (306) 934-4888.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Myrtle Sophie Swenson April 24 1919 May 14 2022..
