Obituary
The families of Myrtle Pittman announce her sudden at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, in Corner Brook, NL, on Monday, November 14th, 2022, at the age of 75.
She is pre-deceased by her parents: Edgar and Ethel (née Kearley) Gillingham; her sisters: Wavey, Elsie and Mary; her brother: Ephraim; and her dear friend Hattie. She leaves to mourn her loving and devoted husband of 55 years, Norman; her only child, the person who gave her purpose, her daughter Wendy (Michael); her two precious granddaughters: Jada and Allie — the absolute joy and delights of her life; her sisters: Joan (Ephraim), Leatrice (Stanley) and Eileen (Max); a large circle of nieces and nephews; close friends: Hugh & Marie Gale, and Doug & Maxine Loder; and a large circle of family and friends.
She could be found spending many of her hours knitting wool socks for all the members of her friends and family. No one had cold feet during the Christmas season! She thoroughly enjoyed a game of cards with her nearest and dearest friends. But for the majority of any day she would be found in the kitchen baking bread and making her famous figgy duff that the grandchildren dearly loved. She would then end most days watching her favorite shows: Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.
We would like to offer special thanks in recognizing the EMR’s (Agnes and Victoria) and the Paramedics who worked effortlessly to try and save her. In addition, Nurse Amanda we also thank you for your compassion and empathy towards our family during this difficult time. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
