The passing of Muriel Noreen Nightingale of Fredericton, NB, occurred on September 4, 2022. Born on December 11, 1936 in Boiestown, NB, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Merle (MacLellan) Scott.
Fondly nicknamed “Pure-Mur” by her close family and friends, she was a kind hearted lady who was dearly loved by all who knew her. For several decades, Muriel worked for the Bank of Montreal where she met many lifelong friends.
A much loved and devoted mother, grandmother and great–grandmother, Muriel leaves behind her daughter, Cheryl; sons, Cameron, and Gary; her daughter-in-law and caregiver, Cindy; grandchildren, Jennifer, Matt, Leah, and Mark; great grandchildren, Darius, Bowin, and Dougie; brother, King Scott (Ellen) of London, ON; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Lawrence (Duane) and Merlyn Scott (Alice); and her dear friend and sister-in-law, Evelyn Davidson.
The family will forever be grateful and extend a heartfelt “thank you” to the incredible and caring staff of the York Care Centre for the excellent care and attention Muriel received while a resident.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the loving care of York Funeral Home. In keeping with Muriel’s wishes there will be no services. For those who wish, donations can be made in Muriel’s name to the Alzheimer Society. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
